Spot the World's First Personal Satellite Messenger

Are you the adventurous type who would dare to go hike and climb numerous mountains and explore the outdoors areas? Then you need SPOT. What is SPOT by the way? Spot Satellite Messenger is the first device that can communicate a message and your exact GPS coordinates to the people you need to contact from virtually anywhere around the world. It may be your family, friends or your sweety pie. With SPOT, you can keep in touch no matter what your outdoor activity may be.

SPOT works like a Personal Locator, it has a tracking feature which allows you to share your adventure with your friends or family back home. When you activate this feature, your position is plotted and integrated into Google Maps, showing where you are and your progress. The page can be open to anyone or password protected, your choice. Isn't it cool?

The Spot Personal messenger uses GPS satellite technology to find your exact location, then using commercial satellite networks, you can send that information to your contact list. This system is totally satellite based, no cell signal is needed.

Spot gives you and your family peace of mind by insuring that you have an avenue of communication when you would otherwise be out of touch. Could there be any greater device than this? I wish I could try this one too.
SPOT is your best Outdoor-Gear-Online.com.

Alaska Here I Come!

Arrival at Alaska! Whew!

A breathtaking view, isn't it?

Visiting the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center...

Nice cruise, be in one of that in a while...

Seals, oh seals....

Wow.... Cool Glacier!

A closer look at the Glacier...

Lotsa Ice!!!

Bye-bye Glacier...

Trivia:
Did You Know?
When Captain George Vancouver surveyed Southeast Alaska in 1794, the wall of ice that filled the bay was (at its greatest extent) 100 miles long, 20 miles wide, and 4,000 feet thick. Just 250 years later, this same ice has retreated 65 miles, the fastest glacial retreat on record.

les Chutes du Niagara

The Niagara Falls are renowned both for their beauty and as a valuable source of hydroelectric power. Managing the balance between recreational, commercial, and industrial uses has been a challenge for the stewards of the falls since the 1800s.

Chateau de Versailles

One of the most visited monuments in France is the Chateau de Versailles. The Chateau de Versailles has more than 2,000 windows, 700 rooms, 1250 fireplaces, 67 staircases and more than 1,800 acres of park. The paintings, tapestries , sculptures ,furniture of this fabulous castle, have been executed by the best Italian and French artists of the time, which makes it one of the largest castles in the world. And when I got the chance to visit Paris again, I never miss the chance of going there, to see the beauty of the palace in my own naked eye.

We take the 30-minute ride on the RER train, Line C, to Versailles Rive Gauche Station, the last stop on the line. This station brings you within just blocks of the famous Chateau of Versailles.

Lots of people want to visit the Palace of Versailles too but the queue is way too long and we're under the heat of the sun... Whew!

...and our patience has been rewarded, it surely is an amazing and beautiful place. By the way, that is the Grand Canal over there.

See that huge Maze behind me? It's been said that the movie 'The Wizard of Oz' was filmed there...

This is the Coronation room.

The Queen's Bedchamber. It was in the Queen's Bedchamber that the French Queen would give birth to heirs to the throne. Many people would crowd into this room to watch the event.

Welcome to the King's Chamber... :)

The Hall of Mirrors, completed in 1686, was a passage through which Louis XIV would go each day to get from the King's Apartment to the Chapel. There are magnificent views of the gardens through the windows. Mirrors are placed on the opposite wall to reflect the light, and a series of chandeliers hang from the ceiling. It was in this room that the Treaty of Versailles was signed in 1919, formally marking the end of the First World War.

...and how I love looking at this painting... =)

Until then... I'll post more about my Travel escapades from different places soon. Just been busy with work lately...
